Stephen Wayne Green's Obituary
Stephen Wayne Green, 62, of Culpeper, formerly of Slate Mills, Rappahannock County, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at UVA Culpeper Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born December 12, 1953 in Winchester Virginia to the late Edward and Edith Ellington Green.
Steve loved being a truck driver and joking around. Some would say a he was a ‘Jack of all trades” and was commonly known to have a joke interjected into practically every conversation that he was participating in. He was a good friend to all and never met a stranger. His last employment before becoming disabled was at CCA in Boston.
He is survived by his special friend and companion for the past 22 years, Jan Thomas; and her children, Wendi Nettles and family of Roxbury, VT, Sherri McGhee and family of Orange, and Christi Hitt and family of Rixeyville; his sister-in-law, Violet Green of Sperryville and his two special cats, Callie and Junior.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death three brothers, John, William and Donald Green.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 3 p.m. with visitation at 2:00 PM at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor W. Nathaniel Townley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Slate Mills Baptist Church, PO Box 115, Boston, VA 22713 or to RAWL, (Rappahannock Animal Welfare League) PO Box 396, Amissville, VA 20106.
