I'm so fortunate to know Mr. B and I will never forget your smile.
I met Steve in July 2004 when I came to MarCorSysCom. Steve was the resident knowledge of all things related to the command’s Security Program, as he had written or reviewed just about every security document the command had issued. Steve was one of the original “Plank Owners” at the command and was recognized with about 15 others in a formal ceremony. Steve was always there to help anyone that needed it and always did it with a smile. Steve worked hard and served his country well. Retirement took him from our daily lives, but he will remain forever in our hearts. I miss you buddy! Tim Wagner
Steve! Never without a book, a smile, or a kind word. Steve was overflowing with kindness. He has taught me much in these few short years that I have known him. I am blessed to have had him on my life. I love you 😘 Semper Fi Grandpa

It saddens me to hear of Stephen passing. He was one of my first friends when I join MCSC. I’d chat with him daily. We’d fight for the first parking space daily. (He’d normally win.). He loved sharing stories about the books Faye wrote. He’d always mention the wonderful places they had been.
I had not seen him recently as I moved off base but everytime I came base I’d always look for his vehicle in my parking spot!!
Sending love and prayers to Faye and all his friends and loved ones.
Steve and I worked together mostly indirectly but somtimes directly for many years at MARCORSYSCOM. What I remember about him most and what he taught me a lot about was not being in a rush and to SLOW DOWN. I was always rushing about and I admired his way of working continuously and methodically but not in a rush. He was a good guy and I am sorry to hear of his passing.
I first met Steve when I came to MCRDAC in Hockmuth Hall in 1991. He was a part of the novice Security Team hidden away in the basement of the command. He was one of the core group that built the MARCORSYSCOM World Class Security Team that now resides At Hospital Point.
Once we moved to Hopsital Point, the way to work was through Q-town. Steve would get off the train and stop at S&G for a cup of coffee and about 30 minutes of reading before continuing to work. Soon after moving to Hospital Point, we began a logistician breakfast every two weeks the Thursday before payday - SLUGS (Senior Logisticians Undertaking Good Sustenance). we would see him faithfully sitting at the counter with his coffee and book. We'd trade playful barbs on his way out to work.
Steve spoke often of the books Faye was writing and the book tour he took with her. He was proud of the work she put into researching and writing them.
I'll miss Steve and his wry sense of humor. He would do anything for anyone.
Semper Fi, Marine.
Rest in peace young Marine. Will always remember your colorful sea stories about the "old Corps". I enjoyed working with you for three years. You cared about the mission and were dedicated to doing it the "right way" the first time. You were a professional. Thanks for your friendship and the help you gave me along the way. You are missed by all with whom you served at MARCORSYSCOM. Semper fi, Dave Donahue, LtCol, USMC (retired)
