Matriarch Down
On June 20, 2024 at 2:34 pm Stephanie reached the top step on the stairway to heaven.
Stephanie is survived by her four children, Colleen Stiles (Sharon), Michelle Blair, David Stiles (Stacie) and Andrea Prokop (Jim); 10 grandchildren call her Nonie, Anthony, Hailey, Mackenzie, Sophie, Savannah, Morgan, Christopher, R.J., Brian and Ambur; and 6 great grandchildren, who call her Gnonie, Jackson, Austin, Gunnar, Henry, Ella, and Anna.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David C. Sloan, her mother, Julia Gannon, and brother, Bob Gannon.
She had a voracious appetite and humor to match. Stephanie could often be found at the Oyster Festival or Riverfest, rarely missing an opportunity for seafood. She attended St. Jude Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling with AARP or the seniors, taking cruises, going to the Riverside Theatre, bingo, scrabble and a well-made Manhattan. As adventurous as she was, Stephanie went horseback riding on the beach, sky diving in Hawaii, and on her 70th birthday went rock wall climbing!
Stephanie will be missed by many.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Rd., Fredericksburg.
