Stephanie Blackwell's Obituary
Stephanie Harkness Blackwell, 54, of Culpeper died Monday, January 24, 2011 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born November 11, 1956 in Arlington to John and Ester Freeman Harkness of Jacksonville, FL.
Stephie was a loving mother, wife, daughter and sister. She had an intense love for animals of all types. She was a founding member of the Culpeper Lacrosse Association, and will be sorely missed by all members past and present.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, W. Lusby Blackwell, two children, Bethany Blackwell of London, England and Ian Blackwell of Culpeper, two siblings, Jessie Killen and her husband, Bill of Jacksonville, FL, William “Bubby” Harkness and his wife, Ceil of Elverson, PA, as well as a host of other family and friends that leave to cherish her memory.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service for family and close friends will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Barbara Minter officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Rappahannock Animal Welfare League, 160 Weaver Road, Amissville, VA 20106.
