How sad it was when I learned this morning of Sunno's passing. I still remember how excited I got, as a child, to learn that your family was coming from Falls Church to Woodbridge for a visit; or that we were going to visit you. You were the only family members we got to see regularly back then, and family was always important to Sunno. It's hard to think of how many have gone ahead now, but he is at the Lord's table with them all and preparing a place for those of us who remain. Ernie, I remember well when you and Stan were both at St. Matthias singing in the choir (among all the other things you did). We were a new family to the church with two preschool aged daughters and your kindess to us never went unnoticed. Stan always made over the girls making them feel special and your "down-to-earthness" always drew people to you. Please accept our most sincere concolences at Stan's passing. I was saddened to read of the passing of Mr. Stan. We knew Mr. Stan from the express entrance at the YMCA. He was so kind to everyone who came in that door and was especially kind to me and my children, Zoe and Nick. Mr. Stan would often ask my young son, Nick, to "help" him with little tasks at his desk and would often discuss his school work and baseball. He always willing to share sugar free candy with Nick. Mr. Stan also came to my son's baseball games and brought his little dog with him. He truly was a wonderful man that made a big difference in my son's life. We have so many wonderful memories of Mr. Stan. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now.
