Stanley Randolph Creel's Obituary
Stanley Randolph Creel, 83, of Culpeper passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his residence. He was born August 7, 1930 in Culpeper to the late Raymond and Nettie Gray Creel.
Stan was a US Navy veteran and served for 10 years. After serving in the military he came back and started and operated his own business, Stan’s Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Service. He was a lifetime member of the Culpeper VFW Post 2524, Culpeper American Legion Post 330 and Culpeper Moose Lodge. Stan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother
He is survived by his wife, Stella Shifflett Creel; four children, Diane Cribbs of Jasper, FL, Bonnie Stanley and her husband, Larry of Waynesboro, Earl Morris and Jeffrey Verling of Myrtle Beach, SC , and Randall Morris and his wife, Kathy of Suffolk; one brother, Kelly Creel of Culpeper; ten grandchildren, Christina Morgan and her husband, Vaughn of FL, Travis Morris of Virginia Beach, Tracy Shipe of Culpeper, Tony Creel of PA, Michael Creel of FL, Angela Sweigart of PA, Angie Murray of Culpeper, Randall Richards and his wife, Amanda of Orange, Stacey Stanley of Waynesboro and Timothy Stanley of Waynesboro; his godson, Josh Brown; and eighteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Jennifer Shipe and Michael Creel; four grandchildren, Justin Morris, David Creel, J.R. Stanley and Regina Morris; two brothers, Clinton Creel and Pete Creel; and one sister, Elizabeth Creel.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 1 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sharon Forbes officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by Culpeper VFW Post 2524.
Pallbearers will be John Jenkins, Jerry Brown, Jay Brown, Jeffrey Verling, Josh Brown and Randall Richards.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of Virginia, 1700 Bayberry Court, Richmond, VA 23226.
