Stanley Lee Alther's Obituary
On February 2nd 1947, in Charlottesville, VA, Edna and Levi Alther welcomed their first child into the world. It is with a heavy heart that now, their child, Stanley Lee Alther has passed away. For 78 years, Stanley was a familiar face in Rappahannock County. There wasn’t a day that went by that you couldn't find him by the counter at the 211 Quickie Mart, with his signature wad of tobacco and big smile.
As a farmer, he loved taking care of his cows and working outdoors. Stanley will always be remembered and loved by those who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Edna Alther and brother, David Alther.
He is survived by his sister, Charleane; nephew, David Alther Jr.; niece, Callie Alther, and first cousin, Kenneith Horton and his wife, Nancy Horton.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sperryville Cemetery, Sperryville Pike, Sperryville, VA.
An online guestbook and tribute wall are available at www.foundandsons.com.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
