Pastor Solomon Telahun Ketsela's Obituary
Brother Solomon Telahun was born in Addis Ababa in December 1960 to his father Mr. Telahun Feseha and mother Mrs. Roman Demsse. When he reached school age, he completed his primary education at Felege Yordanos School and continued his secondary education at Kedamawi Hailesilassie Secondary School.
He pursued his higher education at the Evangelical Theological College, earning a degree in theology, followed by a master's program at EGST. He then continued his studies in the US, earning a second master's degree from Eastern Mennonite University's Center for Justice and Peace Building. He was also pursuing his PhD in Church Planting and Ministry at Regent University until the time he had to discontinue his studies.
Brother Solomon Telahun accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior in 1988, receiving water baptism at Misrak AA Meserete Kristos Church. He served faithfully and diligently in various church ministries, including as A choir member, youth ministry, education and training, and as a a church elder.
With his great passion for theological education, brother Solomon made significant contributions as the public relations representative for the Meserete Kristos Church College, helping establish it and raising funds by traveling to various states in America. Due to his lifelong love of books, he transitioned from being an avid reader to becoming an author, writing several books including:

· Demakochu/ The Shining Ones
· Purpose-Driven Church
· Knowing God
· Abren Sew Enhun/ Let's Be Human Together
He also collaborated on various translation works and served as an editor and advisor for many other authors' books.
Brother Solomon taught at various theological institutions in Ethiopia, including PTC and Meserete Kristos College, serving as both an instructor and in various leadership positions.
After moving to the US for higher education, he served as a pastor at Assemblies Trinity Ethiopian Church until his passing. In recent years, he served as the Director of North American Ethiopian Evangelical Churches Fellowship, accomplishing extensive and significant work across various states. He played a crucial role in the recent 50th Jubilee celebration, leaving an indelible mark that will always be remembered.
Following a sudden illness and period of medical treatment, brother Solomon Telahun completed his earthly journey, keeping his faith and fighting the good fight, going to his beloved Lord whom he served, on October 29, 2024.
Brother Solomon Telahun was a husband and father to a son and a daughter. We extend our condolences and pray for the Lord's comfort for his wife, children, family, and the entire Christian church community.
A memorial service will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Amanuel Ethiopian Evangelical Church, 5411 Franconia Road, Alexandria. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the church. Burial will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park, 4401 Burke Station Road, Fairfax.
ወንድም ሰሎሞን ጥላሁን ከአባታቸው ከአቶ ጥላሁንፍሰሃ እና ከእናታቸው ወ/ሮ ሮማን ደምሴ በአዲስ አበባ ከተማ በታህሳስ ወር 1953 ዓ.ም. ተወለዱ:: እድሜያቸው ለትምህርት ሲደረስ የመጀመሪያ ደረጃ ትምህርታቸውን በፈለገ ዮርዳኖስ ት/ቤት ቀጥሎም በቀኀሥ 2ኛ ደረጃ ት/ቤት ተምረዋል::
የከፍተኛ ትምህርታቸውንም በEvangelical Theological College በሥነ መልኮት በዲግሪ ፕሮግራም: በማስተር ፕሮግራም ደግሞ ከEGST ተመርቀዋል:: ከዚያም በመቀጠል አሜሪካን ሀገር ከEastern Mennonite University በCenter for Justice and Peace Building የሁለተኛ ማስተር ዲግሪያቸውን እንዲሁም በቤተክርስቲያን ተከላ እና አገልግሎት የፒኤችዲ ትምህርታቸውን እስከሚያቋርጡበት ጊዜ ድረስ በRegent ዩንቨርስቲ እየተማሩ ነበረ::
ወንድም ሰሎሞን ጥላሁን ጌታ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስን የግል አዳኛቸው አድርገው በ1981 ዓ.ም. በመቀበል በም/አ /አ መሠረተ ክርስቶስ የውሃ ጥምቀት በመውስድ በቤ/ክ በልዩ ልዩ አገልግሎት ማለትም በሀ መዘምራን አባልነት፡ በወጣት አገልግሎት ፥ በትምህርትና ስልጠና እንዲሁም በመሪዎች ጉባኤ አባልነት በትጋትና በታማኝነት አገልግለዋል::
ወንድም ሰሎሞን ጥላሁን ለስነ መለኮት ትምህርት ባላቸው ትልቅ ስፍራ የመ /ክ ቤ /ክ የስነ መለኮት ኮሌጅን በማቋቋምና በአገር አሜሪካ ልዩ ልዩ ግዛቶች በመዘዋወር ሀብት በማሰባሰብ ታላቅ አስተዋፅኦ ያደረጉ የኮሌጁ የህዝብ ግንኙነት ተጠሪ ነበሩ:: ወንድም ሰሎሞን ጥላሁን ከልጅነታቸው ጀምሮ ለመፀሀፍት ካላቸው ትልቅ ፍቅር የተነሣ ከአንባቢነት ወደ ፀሃፊነት ተሸጋግረው ለአብነት ያህል:

የሚሉ መፅሃፍትን እንዲሁም ከሌሎች ጸሐፍት ጋር በመሆን የትርጉም ስራዎችን የፃፉ ሲሆን የብዙ ፀሃፊዎችንም መፅሃፍት ሃሳብ በመስጠት፥ በማረምና በአርታዒነት አገልግለዋል::
ወንድም ሰሎሞን ጥላሁን በኢትዮጵያ ባሉ የስነ መለኮት ት/ቤቶች ለአብነት ያህል በፒቲሲ እና በመሰረተ ክርስቶስ ኮሌጅ በመምህርነትና በተለያዩ ሃላፊነቶች አገልግለዋል::
ወንድም ሰሎሞን ጥላሁን ለከፍተኛ ትምህርት ወደ አሜሪካን ሃገር ከመጡ በኋላ በጉባኤ ስላሴ ቤ/ ክንም በመጋቢነት ህይወታቸው እስካለፈበት ጊዜ ድረስ አገልግለዋል ::
በተለይም ላለፉት ጥቂት አመታት የሰሜን አሜሪካ አብያተ ክርስቲያናት ህብረት ዳይሬክተር በመሆን ሰፊና ታላላቅ ስራዎችን በየግዛቶቹ በመስራት በመጨረሻም በሁሉም ዘንድ ተቀባይነተንና አሻራቸውን በጣሉበት የ50ኛው ኢዮቤልዩ በአል ዝግጅት ላይ ታላቅ ሚናን የተጫወቱ ሁሌም የሚታሰቡ ወንድም ነበሩ::
ወንድም ሰሎሞን ጥላሁን ባደረባቸው ድንገተኛ ህመም ምክኒያት በህክምና ሲረዱ ቆይተው የዚህን አለም ሩጫ ሮጠው ሃይማኖታቸውን ጠብቀው መልካሙንም ገድል ተጋድለው ወደሚወዳቸውና ወዳገለገሉት ሽልማትን ወዳዘጋጃላቸው ጌታ እ.ኤ.እ በOctober 29, 2024 ሄደዋል::
ወንድም ሰሎሞን ጥላሁን ባለ ትዳርና የአንድ ወንድና የአንዲት ሴት ልጆች አባት ነበሩ:: ለባለቤታቸው ለልጆቻቸው ለቤተሰቦቻቸውና ለመላው የክርስቶስ ቤተክርስቲያን አባላት የጌታ መፅናናትን እንመኛለን::
