Shirley Marie Yancey's Obituary
Shirley Marie Yancey, 71 of Culpeper died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at her residence. She was born on August 31, 1937 in Culpeper, VA to the late Robert Henry Foushee and Ollie Pearl Shaffer Foushee.
Mrs. Yancey was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed making quilts and blankets, doing puzzles and especially being with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Maxine Scott and her husband, Eric of Ranson, WV, Ann Jenkins and her husband, Joshua of Culpeper and Pat Mills and her husband, Andrew of Mount Vernon, MO, one son, Eddie Yancey and his wife, Mary of Culpeper and one brother, David Franklin Foushee of Simpson, LA.
Additional survivors include eleven grandchildren, Aaris Flickinger, Kristin Flickinger, Brian Flickinger, Eric Scott II, Charla Yancey, Rachel Yancey, Eddie Paul Yancey, Hope Banks, Joshua Jenkins, Jr., Ashleigh Yancey and Traci Mills and one great grandson, Paul Malik A. Hutcherson.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edwin Milton Yancey, Jr. and three siblings, Charles Henry Foushee, Anne M. Long and Roger H. Foushee.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Simpson officiating.
Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Foushee, Randy Foushee, Eric Scott, Joshua Jenkins, George Ellis Ricky Lane and Joshua Jenkins, Jr.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Yancey’s name to Calvary Baptist Church, 12302 Alum Springs Rd. Culpeper, VA 22701.
