Shirley Myers Phillips' Obituary
Shirley Ann Myers Phillips, 76, of Culpeper went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 4, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 5, 1934 in Culpeper to the late John and Clara Rumsey Cook.
She is survived by her children, Denise M. Haraseviat and her husband, Mike of Nashville, TN, Faye Deal and her husband, Richard of Culpeper, Cindy M. Norris and her husband, George of Culpeper, John H. Myers of Culpeper, Renee M. Demmer and her husband, Bryan of Rochelle, VA and Joyce C. Hinkle and her husband, Doug of Culpeper, twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Arnold N. Phillips, she is also survived by her four stepchildren, Tracy Michael, Timothy and Benjamin, and nine step grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 53 years and father of her children, C. “Mack” Myers, one son, C. Wayne Myers, one sister, Peggy Davis, two brothers, Lawrence Cook and Bobby Cook and one step grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Cook officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 19, Brandy Station, VA 22714.
