Shirley Mae Castle's Obituary
Shirley Mae Castle, 91, of Spotsylvania County passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 at her home after a long illness.
Born in Tennessee, Shirley got married at the age of 21 and made her home in West Virginia.
They later moved to Virginia and made their home in Spotsylvania. She was the mother to six children. Shirley worked as a seamstress at Morgansteins Pants Factory for 30 years.
Shirley is survived by her sister, Faye Coates (Sherman); three daughters, Naomi Gatlin (Gerry), Rosemary Whitehurst (Bill), and Lisa Castle; two sons, Bruce and David “Randy” Castle, all of Spotsylvania. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira G. Castle, Jr.; her son, Joseph Castle; a sister, Ruth Browning and brothers, Paul, Jimmy, Kenny and Newton Cutshall.
Shirley’s family will receive friends Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
