Shirley Marie Barfield's Obituary
Shirley Marie Barfield, 70, of Culpeper died Monday, November 11, 2019 at her residence. She was born June 17, 1949 in Washington, VA to the late Robert and Anna Dodson.
Shirley worked at Aides from 1979 until 1995 when the store closed. She then began employment at CFC Farm and Home Center in 1996, where she subsequently retired in 2015. She was a member of Alum Spring Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Roger Barfield; two daughters, Lisa Barfield Weakley and Lynne Barfield McBride (Robby); five grandchildren, Zeb and Leah Weakley; Joel, Desraeli and Javen McBride; nephew, John Dodson; and many special lifelong friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Annie Mae Dodson; and brother, Herman Dodson.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 29, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow immediately after the service at Pepper's Grill, 791 Madison Road, Culpeper, VA.
