Shirley Frieda Bailey's Obituary
Shirley Frieda Bailey, 81, of Rixeyville, VA passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Autumn Care Nursing in Madison. She was born January 4, 1942 to the late Oscar and Martha Mabe Ellis in Highpoint, VA.
Shirley is survived by her children, Joseph Bailey, Jr. of Culpeper, VA, Michael Bailey (Kelly) of Rixeyville, VA, Geoff Bailey (Kim) of Brandy Station, VA; brother, George Ellis (Althea) of Culpeper, VA, Barbara Bailey of Ohio, Patsy Woodward (Kerry) of Elkwood, VA Kathy Ellis of South Carolina, Ann Haught (Dwayne Miller), Culpeper, VA; and grandchildren, Joshua Bailey (Selina), Michael J. Bailey, Kristen Montieth (Darren), J.T. Bailey (Tiffany), Victoria Peters (Brandon), Jordan Bailey, Brittany Cagle (Charles Swisher), Heather Bailey, Chad Bailey (Erin), Travis Thomas (Sophie), Taylor Thomas (Kelly), and Amber Bailey.
Additional survivors include great grandchildren, Hailey Bailey, Eloise Hulvey, Matilda Hulvey, Ailsa Montieth, Adalie Montieth, Aine Montieth, Wylde Monteith, Caroline Peters, Jackson Peters, Seth Bailey, Ian Bailey, Bobby Swisher, Leelynd Martin, Hayden, Lamb, Tyler Bailey, Carolina Bailey, Payton Thomas, Cambrie Thomas, and Bristol Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Joseph Edward Bailey, Sr.; sisters, Dorothy Woolfrey, Betty Hartley, Alice Meadows, Mary Benson, and Nancy Ellis; and brothers, Delmer Ellis, Barty Ellis, and Allen Ellis.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel in Culpeper with Pastor Mark Jenkins officiating.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, 4160 Rixeyville Road, Jeffersonton, VA 22724.
