Shelvy H. Frazier's Obituary
Shelvy H. Frazier, 94, of Castleton, died on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 10, 1919 in Rappahannock County to the late Frank Ray Frazier, Sr. and Lizzie Cora Dodson Frazier.
Mr. Frazier was a member and board member of Massanova Pentecostal Church and was named Honorary Member after 38 years. He was devoted to his church and always had to be early to the service. He loved to work hard, if a job needed to be done, it was worth doing well and if that meant he had to work hard, then he enjoyed doing the job that much more. Along with his enjoyment for hunting, fishing and the pleasures of the wilderness, he greatly enjoyed spending good times with everyone that he encountered.
He is survived by his wife, Montrue Mae Frazier; two stepchildren, Charles Russell Whorton and his wife, Patricia Vest Whorton of Woodville and Nancy Robinson and her husband, Jake Randle Robinson of Deland, FL; two grandchildren, Joseph William Peregory II and his wife, Lori of Castleton and Jennifer R. Woodward and her husband, Jeffrey of Castleton; one step grandchild, Timothy Lee Robinson of Deland, FL; and four great grandchildren, Madison, Westin, Blake and Colton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Faye Peregory; his first wife, Francis Burke Frazier; one step grandchild, Michael Joe Robinson; and his siblings, Marie, Agnes, infant twin girls, Holtzman, Harold, Clustus and Frank Ray, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11 am at Massanova Pentecostal Church, 691 Aaron Mountain Rd., Castleton, VA with Rev. L.D. Savage officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
