Sharon Sitzman's Obituary
Sharon Lee Sitzman, 73, of Topeka, Kansas passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015.
Sharon was born on September 28, 1942 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Dr. Charles Allen Torbit, Jr. and Neva Bell (Cristoffer) Torbit. She was a 1960 graduate of Fountain High School, Fountain, CO and attended Colorado State University, Ft. Collins, CO.
Sharon was employed and retired from the USDA in Washington D.C.
Sharon married Ronald Leslie Sitzman on September 1, 1963 in Colorado Springs, CO. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Denise R. (Joseph) Karwoski, Ebensburg, PA; a son, Kevin D. (Rebeccah) Sitzman, Nokesville, VA; five grandchildren, Andrew, Katie, Samantha, Jennifer and Kimberly; a sister, Cathy Murphy, Fountain, CO; and a brother, Stephen Torbit, Golden, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Torbit III.
Honoring her request, Sharon was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015 Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday November 14, 2015 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating.
