Seth Owen Williams' Obituary
Seth Owen Williams, 30, of Culpeper passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1983 in Warrenton, beloved son of Kim and Monica Bucher Williams.
Seth’s quick wit, unique perspective, dry sense of humor and love of life were keystone traits that made him his own person. He searched many places for what he was looking for in life. He travelled as far away as Oregon and tried Northern Virginia. It was 3 years ago when he returned to Culpeper that he found his place and time in the It’s About Thyme restaurant and the extended restaurant family. He was proud to have served his country as a US Marine and had been an expert marksman. He was an avid reader and loved philosophy.
Among his other loves were skiing, being at Timberline in Canaan Valley, WV, his dog, writing, building fires, music, movies, videos and travel. Most of all he loved being the chef at It’s About Thyme. His love of and natural talent for preparing gourmet meals is the impetus for establishing a culinary arts scholarship in his honor and memory.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his girlfriend and soul mate, Joclyn Yarnall; his grandmother, Rose Bucher; uncle, Larry Williams; uncle and aunt, Rick and Mary Ann Williams; cousins, Wendy Sole and family, Ricky Jo Heidl and family, Lorinne Bodner and her husband, Mike; his loved dog, Tolley; and various friends, second and third cousins, great aunts and uncles.
A gathering to celebrate Seth’s life will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm at the Culpeper Center, 137 S. Main St. Culpeper, VA 22701.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Seth Owen Williams Scholarship Fund (a culinary arts scholarship), PO Box 1946, Culpeper, VA 22701.
