Scott Walton Burnett's Obituary
Scott Walton Burnett, 52, of Culpeper, VA passed away of natural causes on Friday, October 5, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 7, 1966 in Fairfax to Carol Clawson Burnett and the late Frederick Walton Burnett.
Scott, or “Woody” to his friends was an avid outdoorsman and passionate athlete. He played soccer for his dad’s team, was a baseball champion, and was a highly recruited linebacker at Southeastern Louisiana University. He rowed crew on the Potomac River, was a hunter, trout fishing guide, professionally sponsored snowboarder and motor cross racer. Beyond that, he was an amazing artist and enjoyed the pursuit of knowledge in history, considered by himself and his family an aficionado. He was a certified scuba diver, chef, and coached the CFA Midget Cavaliers.
He was very successful in his career as a Worldwide Telecommunications Program Manager for various companies such as Lockhead Martin, General Dynamics, and Verizon. Scott was proud to rededicate The Pentagon Communications Center back to President Bush after the 9/11 attacks.
His crowning achievement was his family and their adventures.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Christina Hewitt Burnett; his children Cullen Baird Burnett and Amelia Brooke Burnett of Culpeper; sister, Katherine Sue Burnett Neiderer of Elizabeth City, NC.
A memorial service will be held in their home from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018.
