Savannah Mae Smith's Obituary
Savannah Mae Smith, 23, gained her wings on Friday, May 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Armistead Marcus Smith, as well as her loving maternal and paternal grandparents.
Savy is survived by her beloved son, Braxton; her mother, Chandra; stepdad, Danny; sister, Lily; cousin and best friend, Hannah; and many uncles, aunts and cousins with whom she shared a special bond. She was also blessed with several childhood friendships that continued throughout her life.
The love of Savy’s life was undeniably her cherished son, Braxton. She proudly proclaimed that he was her greatest achievement.
Savy had a very outgoing spirit and always wanted to be around people. She loved spending time with family and friends telling jokes, laughing, singing, dancing and watching chick flicks with her mom. She had an artistic flair and loved to draw, color, and do her hair and makeup and that of her friends and family. She was passionate about art, animals (loved animal prints!), crafting, writing poetry and could crochet beautifully.
It is a family joke that she took the word “no,” not as an end result to a request, but as a jumping off point to begin her incessant negotiations, as if to channel her inner defense attorney.
Savy was a beautiful young woman, inside and out. She treated everyone with kindness. She was never one to pass judgment on others. She always stood up for anyone being bullied or put down. She had an infectious smile and laugh that would light up any room.
Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled.
Savy’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2021 in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
