Sarah L. Towler's Obituary
Sarah Lee Towler, 80, of Culpeper, Virginia, peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at her home. She was born on January 12, 1945, in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, to the late Gabriel and Emily Reed.
Educated in Mecklenburg County, Sarah attended West End High School in Clarksville, Virginia. She later formed a union with Maxwell Towler, Sr., and through their bond, five children were born. Though their paths changed over the years, Sarah and Maxwell shared a lifelong friendship until his passing.
Throughout her life, Sarah was admired for her unwavering work ethic and compassionate heart. In her later years, she found renewed purpose working with FirstLight Home Care, where she extended the same care and kindness she had always shown to others.
Faith was the foundation of Sarah’s life. She deeply loved her church, True Deliverance Church of God, where she served faithfully as the Mother of the Church, a role she carried with grace, wisdom, and devotion. She remained steadfast in her spiritual walk, offering encouragement, prayer, and love to all who crossed her path.
In her quiet moments, she enjoyed crocheting, took pride in being beautifully dressed, and delighted in preparing meals made with love. She also cherished the simple joy of fishing with a bamboo pole. Above all, Sarah was a loving, gentle soul who cared deeply for everyone she encountered.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Veronica McNeal, Maxine White, Demetrias Towler, and Maxwell Towler (Toni); fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; her dear and devoted friend, Wynettia Slaughter; and a large circle of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Harris; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; seven brothers; and two sisters.
Sarah’s presence will be profoundly missed, and her memory will be cherished forever.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 1 p.m. at True Deliverance Church of God, 10499 Jerico Road, Bealeton, VA 22712. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
