Sarah Ewing's Obituary
Sarah Roe Ewing, 93, of Lake of the Woods in Locust Grove, Virginia, died peacefully Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at her home.
Sarah was born in Cordova, Maryland to the late John A. and Cora Andrews Roe. She retired from the post office in Alexandria in 1978, after having had various jobs during her lifetime from selling encyclopedias to management.
A devout Christian, Sarah was a faithful member of the Lake of the Woods Church. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed quilting.
Sarah is survived by her son, Irvin Allen Dietert of Wilmington, DE; her daughters, Barbara Campbell of Seattle, WA, and Fay Potter of Locust Grove; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was predeceased by her brothers, Earle, Otis, and John; her sisters, Anna Kirby Horney and Ethel Ornett; and her husbands, William Francis Ewing, Casper Clinton Parrott, and Irvin Frederick Dietert.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Lake of the Woods Church.
In lieu of flowers, Sarah’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of the Rapidan, P.O. Box 715, Culpeper, Virginia 22701 or a hospice of your choice.
