Sandy Elkins' Obituary
Sandy Junior Elkins, 71, of Alexandria, died Sunday, August 27, 2006 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He was born on August 8, 1935 in Warrenton, VA to the late Sandy James and Betty Kerns Elkins.
Sandy was a Korean War Veteran serving his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was involved with Groveton Baptist Church in Alexandria and loved the Lord greatly. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing but most of all he truly admired, loved and cared for his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his two loving children, Rickie Lee Elkins and his wife, Joyce of Woodbridge and Lucy Ellen Orsi and her husband, Steven of Manassas, his adoring grandchildren, Kira Danielle, Barbara Alexandra and Joseph Lee Elkins and Ellen Marie and Elizabeth Michelle Orsi.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Helen Jenkins and Barbara Weakley and two brothers, Roy C. Elkins and Davis Elkins. His extended family includes Linda Louise Hall and her son, Austin Michael Hall.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Elizabeth Elliott, Douglas Elkins, Joseph C. Elkins and Ada Bache.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 31, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 330 and VFW Post 2524.
Pallbearers will be Rickie Elkins, Steven Orsi, Joe Weakley, Roy Elkins, Jr., Austin Hall and Douglas Elkins.
