Sandra "Sandy" Diane Hawkins' Obituary
Sandra Diane “Sandy” (Fishback) Hawkins of Culpeper passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the age of 75, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Sandy was a loving mother and a devoted grandmother to her five cherished grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her, and she took great joy in every moment spent with them.
She was an active member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, where she found fulfillment in supporting and mentoring children through the Awana Program. Sandy dedicated her life to serving others, both through her career as a nurse and as a lifetime member of the Culpeper County Volunteer Rescue Squad. Her compassion, generosity, and commitment to her community touched countless lives.
Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Douglas Hawkins; her father, Raymond Edward Fishback; and her mother, Lois Christine Fishback.
She is survived by her two sons, Warren Edward Hawkins (Leigh Ann Leary) and Curtis Wayne Hawkins (Kristen Hawkins); her five grandchildren, Cora Louise Hawkins, Andrew Wayne Hawkins, Matthew Douglas Hawkins, Colton James Hawkins, and Joseph Curtis Hawkins; her three brothers, Randolph Fishback, Gary Fishback, and Anthony Fishback; and her lifelong best friend, Faye Davis.
Sandy’s loving and giving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 5 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA, with Pastor Brad Hales officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family invites those unable to attend to view via livestream link https://together.oneroomstreaming.com/AWAF5V.
Interment will be held privately at Culpeper National Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving the family will be Warren Hawkins, Curtis Hawkins, Andrew Hawkins, Matthew Hawkins, Colton Hawkins and Joseph Hawkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont and/or the Culpeper 4-H CMR Farm Show in her memory.
