Sandra B. Demotses' Obituary
Sandra Brown Demotses, 84, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025.
She was a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sandra was born on November 21, 1940 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She spent her formative years in Fairfield, Connecticut before attending the University of Bridgeport’s nursing program. She went on to have a fulfilling career as a public health nurse and administrator. She later became the Director of Health Occupations at Spotsylvania Career and Technical Center and also taught clinical nursing at Germanna Community College. Throughout her professional journey, Sandy was known for her dedication, hard work, depth of knowledge, and passion for helping others.
Above all, Sandy was devoted to her family. She cherished the time spent with her husband, children, brother, and grandchildren, always offering guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter the challenge.
Sandy enjoyed cooking, entertaining family and friends, and playing card games in her leisure time.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband, James Demotses; her daughters, Beth Salaris and Kathleen Smith; her brother, Bruce Brown; and her three grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
