Samantha Lynn Moeller's Obituary
Samantha Lynn Moeller, 29, of Maidens, VA, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born July 9, 1996 in Charlottesville, VA.
Samantha grew up in Charlottesville, graduating from Albemarle High School in 2014 and the University of Virginia (B.S., Computer Science) in 2018. She was a skilled musician, singer, and performer, joining the trumpet section of the UVA Cavalier Marching Band, where she met her husband, Gray.
Samantha worked as a security management specialist at SWIFT in Culpeper, Virginia from 2018 to 2022. In 2022, Samantha and her husband moved temporarily to Wasilla, Alaska, where she was baptized and her daughter, Bonnie was born. Samantha and Gray returned to central Virginia after a year of adventure.
It was Samantha's pleasure to support others uncomplainingly. She loved to score her brother's baseball games, constantly celebrated her friends, and began a YouTube channel which has helped tens of thousands of people navigate the uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis. Samantha found her greatest joy as a mother, a vocation in which she excelled with patience, wisdom, and faith. Samantha found constant comfort in Christ, and displayed His love in her family and beyond.
Samantha is survived by her husband of five years, Eric Gray Moeller; daughter, Bonnie Moeller; parents, Christopher and Michelle Reid; sister, Suzanne Pattison (Brian); brothers, Steven Reid (Lexi), Scott Reid (Breanna); nieces, Lucie, Eloise and Lyla; in laws, Leslie and Eric Moeller; brother-in-law, Jack Moeller (Natalie); sister-in-law, Virginia Moeller; nieces, Helen, Kelley Faith and Heidi; grandparents, Marilyn Hertel and Robert Reid and a host of extended family and friends.
