Ruth Williams' Obituary
Ruth Irene Williams, 90, of Warrenton, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Fauquier Hospital. She was born on September 29, 1915 in Louisa to the late Joseph Spicer and Haley Johnson Spicer.
Ruth was a caregiver to many families for over 30 years. Prior to care giving, she worked for Virginia Baptist Home and Sidwell Friendship School in D.C. She enjoyed gardening her flowers but her great passion was cooking. She will be remembered as a loving, giving people person that was always smiling and happy. Ruth was loved by all including the staff at Overlook Nursing Home and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her three children, Walter Williams of Maryland, Randolph Waddy and his wife, Virginia of Palmyra, VA, and Maude Lorraine Williams and her husband, James of Culpeper, fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great- great grandchild, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lillie Mae Hill, her son, Charles Donald Williams, granddaughter, Karen Hill, and thirteen siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church on Norman Rd. with Rev. Nathaniel Butler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Williams, Darnell Williams, Randolph Waddy, James Williams, David Hill, and Donnie Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be George Williams and Freddie Williams.
