I first met Ruth when her husband, Jack, hired me to assist their non-profit entity, NPMA. I would often visit at their home to talk about work, but they would also regale me with stories of their time in the Air Force and of all of the overseas adventures they had during their assignments. Ruth would also talk often of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very proud of her family and her face just lit up when when she spoke of them.
Ruth was an amazing woman. Not only did she support her husband and family through a storied military career, but she also worked herself as an admin assistant, eventually for a general at the Pentagon. She was smart, strong, driven and feisty! If there was something that needed to be done, she ensured that it was. When Jack passed, she was determined that his legacy to the fueling industry would continue and grow. She oversaw its reorganization into NPMC to make sure that the work she and Jack poured into it would live on and continue to help and served the community.
I will so miss being warmly welcomed to her home by Ruth, Bobbi and her pups. My condolences to all of her family and friends.
