Ruth Anne Lantinga's Obituary
Ruth Anne Lantinga, 75, of Culpeper passed away on Wednesday, September 03, 2014 at her residence. She was born November 9, 1938 in Passaic, NJ to the late Barney and Helen Houser VanDerhey.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always put her family first. Ruth was a 4-H leader for 35 years in dog, rabbit, horse and dairy clubs. She also had a passion for camping at the beach. She and her husband started that tradition with their children in 1976, at Frontier Town Campground in Ocean City, Maryland. She was owner and operator with her daughter, of Adorn Florals and Gifts since 1988.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Frederick Lantinga; five children, Debbie Lantinga of Culpeper, Danny Lantinga and his wife, Becky of Stanardsville, Kenny Lantinga and his wife, Brenda of Culpeper, Billy Lantinga and his wife, Loretta of Reva and Mark Lantinga and his wife Marie of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Johnathan Frazier and his wife, Courtney, Corey Frazier and his wife, Ashlie, Kenny Lantinga, Jr. and his wife, Lindy, Lee Dwyer and his wife, Lakisha, Dawn Kelley, Casey Dyer, Daniel Lantinga, Victoria Taylor, Cassandra Lantinga, David Lantinga, Christopher Lantinga, Joan Holz, Karen Holz, Gage Lantinga, and Tonia Lantinga; and great grandchildren, Caden Lantinga, Remmington Lantinga, Dallas McKaige, Caylie Frazier, Isabella Frazier, Zylah Frazier, Conner Kelley and Adaleen Butler.
A private graveside service was held in Fairview Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of the Rapidan for taking such great care of Ruth.
