Ruth Kidd Garner's Obituary
Ruth Kidd Garner, 92, of Fredericksburg entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.
Ruth was born in Appomattox, Virginia later moving to the Fredericksburg area. She worked at the FMC Plant from 1951 to 1973 then leaving to work at the Quantico Marine Base from 1973 to 1978. She later furthered her career and began work for the Department of the Navy from 1978 until she retired in 2002. She received numerous commendations for her services.
Ruth cherished family gatherings. She loved sitting by her dogwood tree watching the many robins, doves and cardinals that would sit on the branches while she sat there.
Ruth is survived by her son, Robert C. Scott, Jr. (Janet); daughter-in-law, Denise Kulp; her sisters, Annie Mae Jones and Emma Sue Boutchyard; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Jessica, Savannah, Jesse, Michelle, and Brandy; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth R. Kulp in 2013; sisters, Virginia Hicks, Mary Senger, Louise (Kitty) Cox, and Edith Truslow; brothers, William Kidd and Charles Kidd.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
