Ruth Mae Bohannon's Obituary
Ruth Mae Bohannon, 85, of Fredericksburg, VA (formerly of Chantilly, VA), passed away
Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born June 13, 1940, to
the late Howard and Mabel A. Morgan of Camden, NJ.
Ruth was known for her warm heart, her love of baking; especially her famous apple cakes and
specialty pound cakes, and the joy she found in caring for her family. A devoted wife, mother,
grandmother, and friend, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and created lasting
memories with her unforgettable breakfasts during family camping trips.
She worked in retail sales for 35 years, where she was known for her dedication, kindness, and
the genuine connections she made with those around her. In her leisure time, Ruth left no
stone unturned to find the best yard-sale bargains.
Her legacy lives on in the delicious recipes she passed down, the stories told around the kitchen
table, and the love she gave so freely to all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her children, Robert J. Bohannon, Jr., Debbie Phillips and her husband,
Christopher; grandchildren, Christina Morgan (James), Robert J. (B.J.) Bohannon, III, William
Dakota (Cody) Phillips (Brittany), Sabrina Danielle Phillips (Jeremy), Anthony Richard Phillips
(Alexis), and Michael Austin Phillips (Kayla); great-grandchildren, Evan Bohannon, Tristan
Bohannon, Hailey Bohannon, and Raegan Bohannon and a host of additional family and
friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Bohannon, Sr.;
her daughter, Donna Marie Bohannon; sister, Mary Emma Jones; and brothers, Harry Leslie
Morgan, Howard Morgan, and William Harrison Morgan.
