Ruebin W. Smoot's Obituary
Ruebin W. Smoot, 70, of Amissville died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Fauquier Hospital. He was born November 12, 1946 in Rappahannock County to the late Ruebin W. and Rosie Riley Smoot.
Mr. Smoot loved the outdoors, eating out, telling jokes, and going to Charlestown to play the slots. Above all he enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by two sisters, Carrie Harris and Mary Lee Estes, both of Culpeper; one nephew, Thomas Smoot, Jr. and his wife, Ann of Madison; two great nephews, Matthew and Christopher Estes, both of Culpeper; and special friend, Michael Stringfellow.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Etta Jane Smoot; one brother, Thomas Smoot, Sr.; two brothers-in-law, Cecil “Buck” Harris and Harold Estes, Sr.; and two nephews, Fred Jenkins, Jr. and Harold Estes, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Sandy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
