Rubylee Weaver Hawkins' Obituary
Rubylee Weaver Hawkins, 79, of Culpeper passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born May 8, 1934 in Charlottesville to the late Reuben B. and Nannie Lillard Weaver.
Rubylee worked many years in Culpeper County food service and later for Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was a very active member of Alum Springs Baptist Church where she took great pleasure in serving others. She loved to feed people with her exceptional cooking and reassured that the church food closet was fully stocked. Rubylee spearheaded numerous hospitality functions and was always there to lend a hand.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lewis Richard Hawkins; two children, Richard Hawkins and his wife, Regina of Fredericksburg and Pamela Dodson and her husband, Rick of Culpeper; three siblings, Peggy Breeden, Alice Bennett and Reuben Weaver, Jr.; four grandchildren, Tammy Blankenship and her husband, Wayne, Jamie Barnard, Tarah Stanley and her husband, Jeremy and Dana Dodson all of Culpeper; and four great grandchildren, Ricky, Davie, Christina, Robbie. Ruby always cherished her time spent with her family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 2 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Ron Young officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Staton, Pete Stover, Robert Clatterbuck, Jimmy Bennett, David Weaver and David Bennett.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Ave. Ste. B, Winchester, VA 22601.
