Ruby Lee Bourne's Obituary
Ruby Lee Bourne, 82, of Stafford County passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at her daughter’s home.
Ruby was born in Spotsylvania County and lived in Stafford County all of her adult life. She was a life-time member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Many remember her as the #35 Stafford County bus driver during the 1960’s & 70’s. Later in life, she assisted her sister and nephew in operating New Post Market in Woodford. Her most joyous occupation was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Ruby is survived by three daughters, Cheryl B. Ferguson of Florida, Brenda B. Sampson and her husband, Robert of Stafford and Marcia L. Jiménez and her husband, Mario of Florida; a sister, Phyllis Rupprecht of Stafford; two sisters-in-law, Diane Jacobs of Caroline County and Leola Thompson of Spotsylvania; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Stansbury W. (Dick) Bourne, Jr.
Ruby’s family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
