Roy Daniel Bodkins' Obituary
Roy Daniel Bodkins, 74, of Culpeper died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born December 6, 1933 in Dayton, VA to the late Jacob Samuel and Florrie VanPelt Bodkins.
Mr. Bodkins served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict where he was stationed in Japan. He was a life member of the Culpeper V.F.W. Post # 2524, American Legion Post # 330 and a past member of the Culpeper Lions Club. He was a great fisherman and poker player.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Norine Marie St. Pierre Bodkins, his children, Debra Bodkins Smith and her husband, Steven of Richmond, R. Daniel Bodkins and his wife, Susan of Salem, and Samuel Joseph Bodkins and his wife, Rita of Gordonsville.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Mary Lee Armentrout of Lakeland, FL, Jo Ellen Dickenson of Harrisonburg, two brothers, Charles Bodkins of Dayton, VA, James Bodkins of Harrisonburg, and two grandchildren, Taylor Bodkin Smith and Shannon Leigh Bodkins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Harry Bodkins, three half brothers, Paul Bodkins, Claude Bodkins, Elbert VanPelt, one half sister, Reba Hevener, and two brother-in-laws, Ernest Armentrout and Eugene Dickenson.
