Roy Lester Wine's Obituary
Roy Lester Wine, 68, of Fredericksburg passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his home.
Roy was a hardworking, loving man who was extremely proud of his Army service in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in action.
His passion was for his family and many friends. He enjoyed working on cars and hunting in his earlier years. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Roy is survived by two brothers Jesse C. Wine (Joyce) of King George County and his twin brother, Ray L. Wine of Fredericksburg. He also leaves behind a half-sister, Darlene Cropp (Glen) of Stafford County; a niece, Sheryl Covington (Bobby); and a nephew, Jason Wine (Candace) both of King George; as well as two great-nieces, two great-nephews and many friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman C. Wine and Emma M. Wine; a brother, Thurman Wine; and his sister Jonell Minter.
Roy’s family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Ramoth Baptist Church, 478 Ramoth Church Rd, Stafford, VA 22554, with a funeral service starting at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral service in Ramoth Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Roy’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of charitable donations in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
