I know it has been a while since I wrote something on your Tribute Wall, but honey believe me it is not because you are not on my mind and in my heart every single day. I have been to visit several times, and all of us came to visit on July 4th. My goodness oh how much I miss you, I just never knew.....but truthfully I never wanted to find out. I am doing okay I suppose because you made me promise I would take care of myself and made Jeanean and Billy promise to promise the same, and they are. But I keep finding things that you gave me through out the years, notes, cards, personal things and I came across this Beautiful Birthday Card you gave me in 2008 so I wanted to add it to my letter to you... Roy, I know i didn't know you for that long but it felt like i had known you forever, its crazy. But i just wanted to say that i miss you very much and i miss how you used to make me laugh all the time and i loved spending time with you. Even when i would walk in the room and you would smile, it made my day so much better. :) but i have been trying to spend time with your wife to make her feel better because i know she misses you so much and it makes me sad and shes been telling me all the memories you guys had and they make me so happy just listening to them. :) everybody here misses && loves you so much!

Mamaw and me went to the house to today and man did i miss you so did mamaw i enjoyed spending the time that we did.

I want to tell you that I went down to the house today with JoAnn,our granddaughter and tried to stay the night but it was just impossible -- I could not do it without you honey, everything is too fresh in my mind. My memories of you are like Whispers From Heaven and they come from every corner of our property. With every glance as I could see you everywhere with tears streaming down my face, I saw you mowing the lawn on your riding lawn mower as you always looked up at me on the deck and give me that "oh so" sweet smile as you so often did. It was as though a gentle breeze blew through the beautiful trees in our back yard right from the "Heavens"and they were saying I Love You My Darling Wife, I could hear your sweet voice, I tried to think of it as a reunion to soothe my broken heart and in vain I tired with all the courage I had to draw confort as I sit there in the driveway, oh so familiar to both of us. But unfortunately one of us was not there and I just could not contain myself. I love you more and more every day...I hope I will one day be able to spend one night at the home we shared and both of us loved for over 20 years..I LOVE YOU MY PRECIOUS HUSBAND!! The Blessing of Memories
We are closing our eyes and letting your memory float back to the far corners of our mind. Every person has memories that connect them to their past. What a joy it is to remember those who have loved you, taught you, and invested in your life. Memories give us a history. They give you marking points of times of growth in your life. Memories remind us of difficult times we have made it through, and encourage us to keep on going in hard times.
We all miss you so much. Little JoAnn, as you always called her came to spend the night with me and tomorrow night too. She misses you very bad. She took your pretty little American Eskimo dogs for a walk this evening. They really enjoyed it. They miss you too, it is as though they are looking for you all the time. Just wanted to tell you that.

DEAR DAD,
Though not a daily part of our lives you will missed and mourned. We wondered why we had not heard from you. I guess you were to sick call. Given the opportunity we would have come to visit.
I apologize for not attending your funeral. I had every intention of coming. Even picked out a dress to wear. When looking for clothes for Andy and Cody I hesitated. I did not want their last connection to their grandfather to be negative. I was given the impression we would not be welcome and did not want anything to be said to them to make them feel bad.
When Tommy came to tell me you had passed on I noticed something. Why I never noticed before is beyond me. His teeth are very much like yours. Crazy thing to be thinking as he was telling me this. I guess I was looking for something of you in him at that moment. Mine used to be the same as well, but cosmetic dentistry has come along way and I had them fixed. Cody had them too, Three years of braces later his are nearly perfect.
As you know I never married. Mark and I have been together 24 years. He asked me to marry him but I am waiting until Cody is 18. I have this crazy sense of family and wanted my children to have the same last name as me. They carry the name Williams. My last name. Your name.
While here Tommy noticed my ponies and asked why I had them. I answered "because when I was little mom and dad would not get me one." I remember the last time I asked for one. We were at Woodies. You were building something. An addition?? I was nagging you for a pony. I guess you got mad because you told me in no uncertain terms I was not getting one. I was heartbroken. Perhaps you knew that because for Christmas I got tons of toy ponies. You even built me a little stable for them to live in. Grandma Bootsi gave me one that year too. It was snowing as we headed home on Christmas eve. Our car slid into the ditch. We walked home, Me You Mom and Johnny. I carried that horse home wrapped in a rag to keep it warm. I still have him. And all those I got Christmas morning too.
My love for horses and my desire for a pony never faded. I could have gotten a full size horse but my dream was always a small pony. Late last summer she came as a surprise from Mark. A rescue, Neglected, Skinny, dirty and sad. To me she was so beautiful I cried. Now she is fat and sassy. Spoiled as every pony should be. Well worth the 30 year wait. I wish you had met her.
When I was little you wanted a boy. You taught me boy stuff. Took me hunting, fishing, let me help work on the car. I could chop wood, stack it, fry eggs and make tea at a very young age. Many of these things are still with me today. I love fried eggs and sweet tea. I can fix and figure out most things mechanical or carpentry related. No interest in hunting. Fishing is catch and release. I must have loved Stacking and chopping wood. My significant other is a woodchuck and wood/trees are a daily part of our lives.
You taught me to be independent and stick up for myself. Yes, I know I was a mean spoiled child. Later it was refined to "Don't start it but don't take no crap". This lesson has served me well much of my life. It has not always made me popular but no one messes with me more than once. Ok... so maybe I'm still a mean spoiled child. You can take the blame for that.
Remember the chimneys on Granny and Granddaddy's house? They still stand today. As beautiful and perfect as the day you built them. Your Grandson's are proud to say their Grandfather had built them. I think of you every time I see them. Now they are even more special. Today I touched the bricks and felt somehow comforted knowing you had touched them too.
I think the day I will miss you most will be my upcoming birthday. Every year you have called. There will be no phone call that day from you. I will not hear that so familiar voice.
I hear tell of a pearly gait waiting for me. I expect you to be there when I arrive.
Bring Grandma Bootsi, Pat and Nanny with you.
