Rosie Virginia Wharton's Obituary
Rosie Virginia Wharton, 91, of Castleton, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Culpeper Health and Rehab. She was born August 27, 1930 in Rock Mills to the late Elijah “Pate” Tharp and Alice Tharp.
Rosie was a member of Black Oak Regular Baptist Church.
She is survived by her siblings, Tom Tharp (MaryBelle), Harvey Tharp (Barbara), William “Woody” Tharp (Peggy), Gladys Williams, Mary Tharp, and James “Jamie” Tharp (Linda); sister-in-law, Barbara Tharp; and numerous nieces, nephews and additional family members.
In addition to her parents, Rosie is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Hayward Wharton; and siblings, Johnny Tharp, Charlie “Jake” Tharp, and Frances Horner.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Washington Masonic Cemetery, Washington, VA with Rev. Wayne Richards officiating.
