Rosemary Owens Bentley, 85, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022. She was born on November 14, 1936 in Letcher County, Kentucky. After moving with her family to Buchannan County Virginia, she married the "Love of Her Life" on June 8, 1953. A year later, she graduated from Garden High School fulfilling a promise she made to her father, if he let her get married she would graduate. She kept her promise.
She was one of the founding members of Garden Baptist (Mission) Church in Oakwood, VA. She retired from Buchanan General Hospital, where she billed Medicare for 26 years and was known as "Medicare Momma".
Rosemary was known for her love of the Lord. As a woman rooted so strong in her faith and supporter of her husband, she would travel to the different churches he pastored. She was full of kindness and generosity. She was an amazing cook!! No one could come close to her chicken and dumplings or her strawberry gravy. What she was known for the most was her love of her family. She loved her family with her whole heart. She was known to many as MamMaw.
She is at peace now with all her loved ones who went before her. We will see Mom/Mammaw/Grandma/Rosemary again in heaven. Until we meet again. We love you!
