Rose Carney's Obituary
Rose Carneal Carney, 81, of Spotsylvania County went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 18, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was the widow of Melvin Lee Carney. She was born in Caroline County to Edmund Gordon Carneal and Mary Maxwell Carneal.
She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Spotsylvania.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda and her husband, Robert Snellings, and Jean and her husband, Tom Brownell; brothers, John Carneal, Ed Carneal and Charlie Carneal; sisters, Pearl Lee Robinson, Mary Lockwood and Arlene Curtis; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
Three of Rose's children preceded her in death, Betty Carney Dupke, James Alvin Lumsden and George Lumsden.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, corner of Courthouse Road and Southpoint Parkway. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at Hebron Baptist Church, Spotylvania. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made in honor of Rose Carney to the Hebron Baptist Church Building Fund and/or the Youth Group, 6431 Courthouse Road, Spotylvania, Va. 22553.
