Rosa Wormley Spillman's Obituary
Rosa Wormley Spillman, 86, of Culpeper, died Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 8, 1938, in Culpeper to the late Robert Creed Wormley, Sr. and Frances Duncan Wormley.
Rosa was a member of Free Union Baptist Church, where she was a Deaconess and was later acknowledged as Deaconess Emeritus.
She is survived by her daughter, Bridgette Spillman; adopted son, Matthew Spillman (Melissa); one granddaughter, Tanya Carpenter; four great-grandchildren, Jaelynn Cooper, Journee, Joy and Jewel Carpenter; adopted grandchildren, Heaven and Jerome Spillman; adopted great-grandchildren, Vincent, Caleb, and Keira Spillman and Victoria Spillman-Thompson; and a host of extended family and friends.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Westley M. Spillman, Sr.; her son, Westley M. Spillman, Jr.; and her siblings, Robert C., Jr., Susan, George and Emma Christine Wormley, Fannie Lawson, and Mary Thompson.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Free Union Baptist Church, 21649 Mount Pony Road, Culpeper, VA. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Dr. Keith Sherard officiating.
Burial will be in the Free Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
