Ronnie Anthony Ferris Sr.'s Obituary
Ronnie Anthony Ferris Sr., 65, of Reston, Virginia departed this life on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Reston Hospital. Ronnie was born January 22, 1955 in Culpeper, Virginia to Mr. Hugh Shelton Ferris and Mrs. Mary Ann Glascoe Ferris, who preceded him in death.
Ronnie attended Culpeper County Public Schools including Culpeper County High School. He accepted Jesus Christ in his life at a young age and attended Church including Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Good Hope Baptist Church, in Norman, Virginia.
Ronnie joined hands in holy matrimony with Mary Ellen Craig Ferris, his wife of 42 years. Born from this union he was blessed with two children Ronnie Ferris Jr. and Corliss Renee Ferris. He so loved his family. Ronnie had many interests and talents. He was a talented visual artist and was gifted in several art mediums such as painting, sketching, and drawing. In particular, he enjoyed sketching pictures of family members and working with oil paints, watercolors, and charcoal. He loved the social scene and enjoyed music, dancing, and going out with family and friends. Ronnie started his career early in the construction industry and was employed as a carpenter for a local home builder for several years. He also worked for Rochester Ropes, Inc. in Culpeper, Virginia.
Left to mourn and cherish his memories are his wife Mary Ferris of Reston, VA, two children: Ronnie Ferris, Jr. of Sterling, VA, and Corliss Renee Ferris of Reston, VA; nine siblings: Patsy Ferguson of Culpeper, VA, Sandra Yates of Washington, D.C., William Ferris of Orange, VA, Eve Bynoe of Laurel, MD, Felicia Johnson (Forrest) of Charlottesville, VA, Jane Terrell (James) of Radiant, VA, Mark Ferris of Griffinsburg, VA, Frank Ferris of Charlottesville, VA, and Jeffery Ferris (Lisa) of Culpeper, VA; seven grandchildren: Asad Waters of Woodbridge, Gabrielle Henderson of Manassas, Tyraun Ferris of Reston, Xavion Ferris of Sterling, Alivia Ferris of Sterling, Kingston Ferris of Sterling, and JaCoury Kenny of Reston.
Also left to mourn and cherish his memories are a host of very special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Much love to nieces Ricsanne Yates and Zondrea Corbin for checking-on and doing-for Uncle Ronnie, and to mother-in-law Mrs. Ellen Craig for making sure Ronnie always had some chocolate snacks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Ferris.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 6, 2020, visitation at 12:00 p.m. and the funeral service will start at 1:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia. with Rev. Harrison Williams officiating.
