Ronald Wayne Rinker's Obituary
Ronald Wayne Rinker, 68, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 10, 2010, at The University of Virginia Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Shenandoah County, Virginia April 18, 1941, to the late James and Trilby Rinker. Ronnie grew up in the Mt. Jackson and New Market area and was a member of the last graduating class of Triplett High School in 1959. He married Mary Ann Zerkel at Grace Church on July 28, 1963, in Mt. Jackson, Va. In 1973, he and his young family moved to Culpeper, Virginia where he lived and worked. Ronnie was the Meat Manager for Safeway in Culpeper for many years then moved on to finish his career with Giant Foods. In 1988, he made a bold move to open and run Mosby Meadow Market in Culpeper where he and his family continued the successful business for 16 years. With the birth of his first grandchild on the way, he sold the business to enjoy retirement and time with his wife and expanding family. He was a longtime member of Reformation Lutheran Church in Culpeper. Ronnie enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and collecting old bottles in his spare time.
Mr. Rinker is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Ann Rinker of Culpeper; his children, Ronald Wayne Rinker II (Wayne), of Mt. Jackson, Timothy Lane Rinker and his wife, Candice Parker Rinker of Culpeper, and Angela Rinker Gamble and her husband, Anthony Joseph Gamble of Culpeper; his grandchildren, Joseph Roman Gamble, Levi James Rinker, and Simon Jacob Rinker, all of Culpeper; his siblings, Mary Foley, of Mt. Jackson, and Frankie Rinker, of Mt. Jackson; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Benny Rinker, Freddie Rinker, and Peggy Wakeman.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Home, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace United Church of Christ, Mt. Jackson, Va. with Pastor Brad Hales officiating. There will be an opportunity for viewing an hour prior to the service.
Internment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers: James Hiner III, James Frazier, Phillip Zerkel, Donald DeLaughter, Bryan Wakeman, Terry Wakeman, Greg Smith, and Clint Oxendine. Honorary Pallbearers: John Jenkins, Roger Payne, and Elwood Ritenour.
A reception will follow the service prepared by the church.
