Ronald G. Mason's Obituary
Ronald (Ron) Mason, 86, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away on July 2, 2021. He was born to Minnie (Klenke) Mason and Andy Mason in Bridgeport, MI on January 14, 1935.
Ron grew up in Saginaw, MI and after graduating from high school, he joined the Navy. Once out of the Navy, he went to work for the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in Cape Canaveral, FL. He left RCA for a career with International Business Machines (IBM) starting in FL and transferring to Manassas, VA where he worked for 25 years as a Computer Programmer/Engineer; retiring in 1994. Ron loved gardening and he spent his retirement working in the yard, planting beautiful flowers. He especially loved spending time with his six grandchildren – Lauren, Bradley, Carson, Riley, Trevor and Garret.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his siblings, Shirley Zeros, Carol Stanulis and his twin brother, Donald.
He is survived by his wife Frankie, of 44 years; his stepdaughters, Tracey Polson (Kevin Clair) and Suzanne Moore (Bob Moore); his stepson Mark Polson, and his brother Jack Mason.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 1:00pm at Found & Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike with Pastor Brad Hales officiating. Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery with honors provided by the VFW Post 2524.
