Ronald Wayne Floyd's Obituary
Ronald Wayne Floyd, 75, of Spotsylvania County, Virginia passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
One of Ronald’s great achievements was receiving his pilot’s license. From the moment he first stepped into a cockpit, Ronald felt right at home in the sky. Flying gave him freedom, joy, and a sense of wonder that he cherished throughout his life.
When he wasn’t soaring above the clouds, Ronald could often be found with a fishing rod in hand, patiently waiting for the perfect catch and savoring the quiet peace of the water. He had a deep love for travel as well, always eager to explore new places, meet new people, and collect stories along the way.
A talented cook, Ronald delighted in preparing meals for loved ones. His kitchen was a place of comfort where family gathered and memories were made. He also loved to dance, especially with his beloved wife, Vicky. He could always find a favorite song for dancing.
Ronald had a soft spot for Westerns, finding joy and nostalgia in the tales of wide-open frontiers and heroes with steadfast hearts. Above all, he loved his family. His greatest pride and greatest happiness were found in the people he held close, and he carried that love with him in everything he did.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Vicky Lynn Floyd; his children, Ronald Floyd, Lynn Carmean (Shawn), Miranda Hovermill (Chris), JD Hayes (Vanessa), and Sarah Delgado-Floyd (Jose); nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild on the way.
Ronald will be remembered for his adventurous soul, his generous heart, and the way he embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created with those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held at a later date.
