Rogers Woolfolk's Obituary
Rogers Woolfolk, 86 of Brightwood, Virginia passed away peacefully in his home on November 8th, 2021. He was born on July 17th, 1935 to the late Elwood and Coletha (Coleman) Woolfolk.
Rogers grew up in Spotsylvania County, Virginia working on his family’s farm. It was here that he developed his hard work ethic, and desire to excel in the workforce. Ultimately Rogers found his true calling as a Crane Operator, joining the Union, Operating Engineers Local No. 77, on May 8th, 1963. The craft came naturally to him, he mastered his skills, becoming one of the best Operators in DC, MD, and VA.
Rogers loved the Lord and committed himself to God at an early age. He met and married his soulmate Sarah Beatrice in 1956, and from this union, they had five children. Together they started a small farm of their own, raising cows, pigs, and tending to large gardens providing more than enough for their own family. He was a man devoted to the Lord, and to his family, serving both faithfully. He loved going to a spirit-filled church and praising God.
As a young man one of his greatest pastimes was riding motorcycles, Harley Davidsons with his brothers. He lived to ride, and now rides free. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who loved him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories five children Doreen Holden (Freddie), Michelle Delaware (Randy), Rochelle Denny (Norman), Penny Toliver, and Tony Woolfolk (Crystal). Fifteen grandchildren Brian, Leslie, Tiffanie, Tevin, Larry, Travis, James, Roger, Ryan, Sarah, Anthony, Alexis, Aalyiah, Ciara, and Destiny. Twenty-six great grandchildren, seven sisters, two brothers, and a host of nieces and nephews as well as an abundance of family members, and many great friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Sarah Williams Woolfolk, and his beloved granddaughter, Stefanie Jameson. As well as four brothers O’Neal, Hillard, Percy, and Craig, and two sisters Edna, and Columbia.
A viewing will be held Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 12 pm until 5 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 12 pm at Temple of Deliverance HCG, 5756 Zachary Taylor Highway, Mineral, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Woolfolk Family Cemetery, 8017 Granite Springs Rd., Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA.
