Rodger ''Tex'' Walcker's Obituary
Rodger Theodore “Tex” Walcker, 69, of Culpeper died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. He was born March 30, 1948 to the late Theodore and Virginia Walcker in Minot, North Dakota.
Mr. Walcker was a retired U.S. Capitol Police Officer having served for 29 years. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Beltsville, MD for 50 years and a life member of the Reva Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department.
Mr. Walcker is survived by his siblings, Diane Sullivan and her husband, Tom of Phoenix, AZ, Del Walcker and wife, Christine of Ellicott City, MD, Susan Potter and her husband, William of Culpeper, VA, and Kevin Walcker of Culpeper, VA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephew, and friends as well as three cats Lilly, Mama Cat and George.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Walcker as well as three beloved pets
Blue, Lucky and cat Lisa.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church, 601 Madison Road, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Pastor Brad Hales officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the service. Military honors will be provided by VFW post 2524 as well as Beltsville, MD and Reva Fire Departments.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church.
