Roderick Leroy Slaughter, Sr.'s Obituary
Roderick Leroy Slaughter, Sr., 50, of Culpeper died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. He was born October 11, 1967 in Charlottesville to the late Thomas L. Slaughter and Dollie M. Jackson Slaughter-Jordan.
Mr. Slaughter was an avid ball player and a diehard Steelers fan. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Woodville.
He is survived by two daughters, Raelyn L. Slaughter and Ryanna L. Slaughter, both of Locust Grove; three siblings, Darlene M. Slaughter of Culpeper, Angelea C. Starks of Culpeper, and James “Morty” Stanton of Culpeper; one granddaughter, Summira N. Harris of Culpeper; one nephew, Michael L. Slaughter; the mother of his children, Angela L. Slaughter of Locust Grove; special friend, Ann Hughes of Manassas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Roderick L. Slaughter, Jr. and Ryan L. Slaughter; and one sister, Gennifer R. Slaughter.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Mack officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
