Robert Morris Allen's Obituary
Robert Morris Allen, 89, of Culpeper, went to be the Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Blue Ridge Christian Home. He was born on October 4, 1918 in Washington, DC to the late Alfred and Anna Gramlick Allen.
Mr. Allen served his country in the United States Army and is a veteran of WWII. He received many decorations while in the service including a Medal of Honor and a Purple Heart. He enjoyed reading and music but above all the Lord. He attended Richardsville Methodist and Oakland Baptist Churches.
He is survived by his special daughter, Annie Giles and her husband, Ronnie of Richardsville, his son, Robert Allen Jr. and his wife, Gerri of Accokeek, MD, his step daughter, Sarah Gates of Sand Gates, MD, his sister, Viola Combs of Suitland, MD, one granddaughter, Brenda, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Hewe Allen.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701, with Rev. Judy Carlson and Pastor Jim Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held on October 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale, FL with military honors provided.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Allen’s name to a charity of your choice.
