Robert Butch Embrey's Obituary
Robert J. Butch Embrey, 73, of Amissville, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at his residence. He was born March 29, 1934 in Fauquier County to the late William Thaddeus Embrey and Ella Gertrude Embrey.
Mr. Embrey retired as a Supervisor at Bingham & Taylor Corporation in Culpeper. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of Jeffersonton Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. Mr. Embrey loved Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and knew his Bible well.
He is survived by his loving wife, Violet V. Embrey, five daughters, Kathy Embrey Ryznar of Fredericksburg, Marie Putnam and her husband, Kenny, of Midland, Susan Bright and her husband, R.S., Doris Pruss and her husband, Frank, and Connie Keyser, all of Bealeton; a daughter-in-law, Sue Wood of Rixeyville; and a son, David Snyder and his wife, Sue, of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include a sister, Anna Embrey Zinn and her husband, Frank, of Culpeper, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, beloved friends and neighbors Shirley and Richard, his dog Lucky, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Embrey is preceded in death by a son, Larry J. Wood, a brother, William Keith Embrey, and a sister, Ella Mae Day.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with Pastor Marshall W. Braylo officiating.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Keyser, Richard Bright, David Jenkins III, Eric Pugh, and Lee and Larry Day. Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer Pullen, Carla Keyser, Robert L. Embrey, Keith and Jason Wood and Stevie Settle.
Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Embrey's name to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1747, Culpeper, VA 22701.
