Roberta Florence Wiggin's Obituary
Roberta F. Wiggin (Bobbie) of Fredericksburg, Virginia passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023.
Roberta loved spending time with her family and is survived by her loving daughter, Annette Clements (Kevin); grandchildren, Robert Clements (Dre), Heather Nichols (Stephen) and Ashley Clements (Ryan); and her six great grandchildren, Alden (6), Addilynn (5), Everett (4), Michaela (2) Kinsley (2), and Jackson (Infant). She is also survived by her brother, William Lawrence (Louva); and nephews, Andrew Lawrence, David Lawrence (Connie), and Daniel Lawrence (Sandy).
Roberta was born on January 4, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Florence Lawrence. She spent her career working for the federal government as an occupational analyst until she retired in Fredericksburg, VA to spend more time with her daughter and grandchildren. During this time, she also became an active member at Chancellor Baptist Church where she built strong friendships while volunteering with the food bank and participating in various church activities.
Roberta was filled with the most joy and laughter when spending time with family. She loved all holiday celebrations, especially Christmas…baking cookies and making the small details matter to ensure there was magic on Christmas morning. She also never missed one of her grandchildren’s events. Some of her favorite memories were watching her grandchildren dance, compete in horse shows, and taking girls trips to various places. She was never one to turn down an adventure.
Roberta requested that there not be a funeral, only a celebration of her life. The family invites everyone to gather at Roberta’s favorite place, Chancellor Baptist Church (11324 Gordon Road Fredericksburg VA 22407) Saturday, August 26 2023 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to one of the organizations that Roberta donated to regularly, Saint Jude Children's Hospital, Tunnel 2 Towers, The Cancer Society or the ASPCA in her honor.
