Robert "Bob" Sponaugle's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Sponaugle, age 77, of Manassas, passed away at his home after a lengthy illness on Thursday, October 26, 2011.
He was a 10 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, after which he worked for Delta Airlines for 28 years before retiring in 1993.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joanne Sponaugle; two children, Brooke Wheby and husband Mike, Cristal Kelley and husband Keith; two sisters, Carol Sutton and Connie Evans; three grandchildren, Lauren Wheby, Justin Morris and Joshua Kelley.
He was preceded in death by his son Lanny Sponaugle in 1977; his parents, George and Elma Sponaugle; two sisters, Ruth Ruckle and Sue Simmons.
Funeral services will be 2 PM on Sunday, October 30th, with Timmy Brammer officiating, at the Found & Sons Lee Funeral Chapel, 8521 Sudley Rd. Manassas, VA 20109.
Memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Manassas Rescue Squad.
